Lunch and refreshments will be served on the water.

Awards:

Awards will be presented at the conclusion of scoring both Saturday and Sunday at the Avalon Yacht Club Youth Center.

Rules:

This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), US Sailing Rules, and MAYRA Rules. All boats must have official class numbers prominently displayed on both sides of their sails. US Coast Guard approved lifejackets must be worn by all sailors. All boats must carry 25ft. of towline.

Notes:

·                     Three minute dinghy start sequence will be used.

·                     There will be a minimum of 3 races for each class, conditions permitting.

·                     Optimists will sail on Saturday in the bay directly west of the club.

·                     All other races will be held in the sound, which is about a 45 minute sail from the club depending on conditions.  Patrol boats may be available to tow sailors out but a tow can not be guaranteed.

·                     Course information and local rules to be provided at skipper’s meeting or upon request.

·                     Cost is $25.00 per Skipper, $10.00 per Crew.

·                     Pre Registration is available by mailing in the attached form and payment.  All pre registration forms must be received by August 5th.

The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, The prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, The prescriptions of the Mid-Atlantic Yacht Racing Association, the rules of the various classes concerning measurements and specifications.

I agree to be bound by the rules of U.S.Y.R.A. and the MIDDLE ATLANTIC YACHT RACING ASSOCIATION (MAYRA), by the prescriptions of the national authority under which this race is sailed and by the sailing instructions.

                WHEREAS, the undersigned has applied for permission to enter the races sponsored by the AVALON YACHT CLUB (the “CLUB”) on the weekend of August 12th & 13th and hereinafter called event.

                WHEREAS, the application for entry having been approved, subject to the provisions hereof: For and in consideration of the premises, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound hereby, does stipulate and agree individually and for all crew members and passengers aboard the participating boat or craft of the undersigned and for all and each of their heirs, executers, administrators, and assigns, hereinafter individually and collectively called APPLICANT, and follows.

                1.             To comply with and abide by all of the rules and regulations stipulated by the CLUB and MAYRA in the conduct of the EVENT in which the APPLICANT shall participate, and

                2.             To release and save harmless, and does hereby release and save harmless the CLUB and MAYRA or any of them, their successors and assigns and/or officers, employees, and representatives of them, and/or officials of the EVENT, of and from all manner of claims, suits, causes of action, cost and damages whatsoever, which the APPLICANT may at any time have against them, or any of them, by reason of the EVENT and preparation for the EVENT and the APPLICANT’S participation therein; and

                3.             The APPLICANT does hereby assume all and full responsibility for any injury, damage or loss sustained by the CLUB and all persons performing duties or services in connection with the conduct of the EVENT and all spectators thereof, by reason of any act of failure to act by the APPLICANT or any of the APPLICANT’S crew or passengers; and further, the APPLICANT does hereby agree to save harmless the CLUB and MAYRA of and from all liability, suits, causes of action, claims, costs, and damages including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees by reason thereof.
